Gore-Tex jackets conform to EN 343 Class 3 for both water penetration and breathability (the highest standard)
Gore-tex® fabrics are durably waterproof, windproof and breathable.
The bi-component Gore-tex® membrane is made from expanded polytetraflouroethylene (ePTFE). Although the membrane is micro-porous, a single droplet of water is 20,000 times larger than each pore in the membrane.
This is why Gore-tex® fabric is so waterproof that it will not let water through up to pressures of 65psi.
Some coated fabrics that are waterproof when new, soon start to leak in use. Gore-tex® fabric remains waterproof because it is highly stable over a wide temperature range and resists flexing and the separation of the waterproof layer from the fabric.
MICRO INDRA T30 Tightly woven microfibre face fabric, soft touch, quiet flex with a Teflon® WR finish. A heavier coating application results in a more durable shell with excellent weatherproof properties.
Taclite 2000 is a mid weight anti-pill fabric recommended for general use. It offers excellent thermal insulation and is ideal to wear alone or as part of a layering system.
Taclite 3000 is a superior weight anti-pill fabric recommended for general use. It offers excellent thermal insulation qualities and warmth for very little weight and bulk.
WIND OFF Element Protection System is a breathable membrane which is resistant to wind and water penetration.
