It is often believed a paper label is the most environmentally friendly way to label a product, however, this is frequently not the case as there are a number of variables to take into account. Over the last few years, major Blue-Chip brands across all categories including food and household have moved to PET-sleeved products. This is not because PET sleeving is cheaper than labels, it frequently isn't, it is because it has numerous benefits over paper including the ability to be recycled.

• PET shrink film is 100% recyclable even with ink on it.

• No adhesive or glue - This ability to separate the two components allows both sleeve and bottle to be   recycled and reused easily.

• No chemical separation process is involved in the removal.

• A shrink film often has perforations making it easy to remove by the consumer, so the sleeve and           bottle can be pre-separated.

• If the sleeve is left on it’s still easy to remove at the recycling centre (think plastic milk bottles).

• The shrink sleeve when separated is reprocessed into “Jazz” which is a flake that can be made into       other products. There are numerous uses that ensure the sleeve is re-used and prevent it from being     a single-use plastic.

• The Cleanline trigger spray shrink film weighs less than 1g (the weight of a paperclip)

• Use chemical glue to affix a front and back labels.

• Consumers frequently do not remove labels, as they are often difficult and time-consuming to remove.

• Requires chemical separation process for removal.

• Some labels will leave torn paper and glue residue on plastic which is problematic to remove.

• Removed labels are often not recycled and simply sent to landfills.

• Paper can contaminate the recycling process.

Along with the newly printed sleeve wraps, the new trigger spray heads are now 100% recyclable with the bottle and contain no metal parts. The natural/clear trigger heads are easier to recycle and the 'chipped' plastic can be more widely used. It also has an improved spray performance and a more robust grip and feels. It is certified in compliance with international ISO 8317 and manufactured in the EU reducing transportation to the UK Cleanline manufacturer.
