1) Your choice of unit is delivered to your site with all necessary materials

2) On collection, the number of sacks collected will be replaced. For the recycling bin service, products must be placed into sacks first and then into the wheeled bin unit to ensure manual handling regulations are adhered to. Once these are collected they will be replaced with new, empty sacks and the wheeled bin unit(s) will always remain on site.

3) Our recycling partner will segregate all materials in similar compositions and securely shred everything they collect.

4) All material is recycled into a variety of products depending on the materials

5) Each collection will generate a Collection Certificate of Destruction as proof that everything has been recycled and will show all details of the process to complete the audit trail. The collection & environmental impact information per site can also be provided upon request.

* Recycling hard hats and footwear require additional intervention to sort and recycle so if you need these items as part of your recycling collections, please let us know at point of signing up.

How the Textile Destruction & Recycling Works

All textiles are securely destroyed by our recycling partners custom built cross cut industrial shredder at a secure location. This ensures the textiles are unrecognisable and broken down to a size where it is impossible to re-weave back into any other garment. All practices are in line with ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations.

The shredded textiles are then destroyed by being pulled and broken down into fabric fibres which are then compressed together into mill-size bales and transported to specialist mills to begin the recycling phase. The products they produce include floor and desk partition screens and even cement truck protection.

When the textile product is deemed redundant, our recycling partner limits the environmental impact by closing the loop and reducing the miles that textile will cover. They securely destroy textiles and recycle all the natural fibres within the UK.

The process separates materials taken so that the amount recycled is maximised, dependant on the material the product is made from. The fibre materials go through the process of stretching where the fibres are turned into a wide range of products such as insulation, geotextiles and other innovative products.

Our recycling partners primary and preferred route is to re-use the material for future manufacturing of other garments, clothes & textiles via recycling. This is typically achieved when the materials recycled are of simple make up and able to be reproduced (Wool, Cotton, Tencil, etc).

Their secondary route is to recycle the materials for use in the world again via a range of different products. This includes end of life products such as insulation, geotextiles, partition walls and sound boarding. This ensures the materials are used again and recycled.

Finally, if the above two routes are not possible for the material and it is currently non-recyclable, to ensure the service is a zero to landfill service, the material will be made into chips and melted to create polyester fabrics or used for energy (RDF).
